House Said to Release Tax Bill Text Next Week
By Laura Davison
The House Ways and Means Committee is scheduled to release a tax bill the week of Oct. 30, according to two tax lobbyists who spoke with House GOP aides.
The bill is slated to be marked up by the committee the week of Nov. 6 and head to the House floor the week of Nov. 13, according to the lobbyists, who requested anonymity because the information isn’t public.
A House Republican aide told Bloomberg Tax that timeline aligns with the committee’s goals. A spokesperson for Ways and Means did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The House is seeking to fast-track the tax bill to pass this year or early next year. The bill will likely cut tax rates for corporations, individuals, and pass throughs, though negotiations about what revenue raisers are to be included are ongoing.
